Focus your stay-at-home business on marketing.

Many people who are in online business are not making the money they want because they are not focusing enough on marketing. They spend too much time building the perfect website or product and not enough time driving traffic to their offerings.

It doesn’t matter how cool, popular or sexy your website is. If you don’t get visitors interested in what you have to offer, you’re not making money online.

Marketing is critical to your success.

You need to identify your target audience. It’s really important that you know as much about them as possible. Who are your potential customers? What age group are they in? Is it women or men? Where do you live? What do you like? Where are they hanging out online?

There are many ways you can drive traffic (visitors) to your listings. Some of these are free and require time and effort, and there are paid methods as well. Social media is a great way to find your target market and convince them to visit your website. You have to do this correctly though, so learn how to do it.

If you have your own website (which we would always recommend), you should learn how to optimize your pages so they have the best chance of ranking high on Google and the other search engines. This is free traffic and very targeted.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is not as difficult as you might think. It all starts with good keyword research. You need to find out what terms (keywords) people are using to search for your offer. There are free tools like Google Keyword Planner to help you find these. This will give you plenty of ideas to optimize your website around these keywords.

Using a Blog to Drive Traffic.

Adding articles and posts to your Blog is called, “Content Marketing”. Content Marketing is one of the best ways to get new traffic to your website. You should strive to create interesting content with value. Don’t be afraid to post it on social networks like Facebook. Some Bloggers create videos for YouTube and share the videos on their Blog sites.

Pay Per Click Advertising is a Great Way to Drive Traffic to your site.

It’s easy to test an offer with paid advertising. With a pay-per-click network like Google AdWords or Facebook Ads, you can spend a small amount of money to see if you can convert visitors into buyers. There are many ways you can market your online business both free and paid. Learn these different methods and create a marketing plan that you follow consistently.

Spreading the word is very important and will literally mean the difference between success and failure.
